Elizabeth Stoltz, Founder
A graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Elizabeth Stoltz passionately pursues her interests in leveraging communications for social justice. In addition to establishing Food for Thought, Elizabeth served as a founding member and researcher for She’s the First. In these leadership capacities, Elizabeth built close relationships with school administrators in Nepal, Ethiopia and Kenya and continues to advocate for women’s empowerment. Currently, Elizabeth is a Research Associate at Ketchum, a global public relations agency, where she develops research-based insights for a variety of public affairs, social marketing, health and corporate social responsibility clients.
Lindsey Smith, President
Lindsey Smith is a senior International Communications major at Ithaca College. As President, Lindsey leads the daily operations of Food for Thought and oversees all executive board members. Primarily, she ensures all organizational goals are being met, while maintaining the Food for Thought brand. Additionally, she provides guidance on strategy and execution of all fundraising and programming events and seeks new opportunities for the organization’s growth. She leverages her marketing experience to strengthen community partnerships.
Through her involvement with GOOD Worldwide, Lindsey encourages social change with a concentration on equality and sustainability. In addition to her role on Food For Thought’s executive board, Lindsey serves as a Student Leadership Consultant in Ithaca College’s Office for Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs. John Vogan, Vice President of Outreach
Kia ora! (Greetings) After a semester abroad in New Zealand, John is excited to once again join the FFT Executive Board. Previously he served as Secretary in 2011, and has enjoyed being an active member since 2010. As VP of Outreach, John coordinates volunteer efforts, plans weekly meetings for general body members, and acts as a liaison to both on- and off-campus organizations with objectives that closely align with Food for Thought’s mission.

Zach Briggs, Marketing Director
Zach joined Food for Thought in his first year at Ithaca College. He enjoys working with children and feels a strong connection with many of the topics the organization discusses. He has been marketing Food for Thought’s events for several semesters now and appreciates the creative work opportunities provided to him. Aside from Food for Thought, Zach has several on-campus positions as marketing and logistics coordinator for two competitions and four jobs as a graphic designer. Zach has natural eyes for advertising, with a blinking rate of 24 times per minute, or 45 times less than the average wing-flap of a European Swallow.
Julia McAvinue, Treasurer
Julia McAvinue is a junior Communication Management and Design major and Music Performance minor at Ithaca College. As Treasurer of Food for Thought, Julia assures organizational funds are accounted for. She acts as an intermediary between Food for Thought and OSEMA, acquiring funds and communicating budget plans. Outside of Food for Thought, Julia is Vice President of She’s the First and Treasurer for Ithaca College Buddhist Community. She is also involved with both IC’s Percussion Ensemble and Marimba Band. Julia is passionate about helping people in need and hopes to pursue a career in non-profit work once she graduates.
Chelsea Hartman, Social Media Director
Chelsea Hartman is a junior Communication Management and Design major and Art History minor. As the social media director, Chelsea helps to keep members informed and promote Food for Thought happenings through Facebook and Twitter. Be sure to like us and follow us!
